Why Is Moving Slowly Important?

When you move slower on your mat, it constantly feels like you have found the last missing puzzle piece that you were looking for under the couch for over a week. It is satisfying probably because it calms my mind. In the end, I find myself without any concerns or thoughts, which is a rare occasion with this nagging brain of mine.
On another level, it allows me to move more freely because I listen to myself without complaining about myself. This is something magical, I am telling you, this is the next level.
It is not about calculating your moves, it is about moving through your heart. When you go slower, the practice turns out to be an inner thing. It helps you to improve your relationship with yourself. You get gentler, kinder, more thoughtful, patient and mindful.
And it is much easier to acknowledge your body parts with a slower movement. You see in detail which muscle groups you activate in poses. You understand HOW to move, and this consequently makes your practice more unique and precise.
But, oh man, it's not easier than moving fast. I mean physically it is challenging! It requires your full attention and presence.
It is enlightening.
So, I thought, maybe, you want to practise slow yoga with me?
