mindfulness practice & social media

Mindfulness is, basically, being aware of the moment we are in. It means being conscious of everything we sense at the moment including the inside and outside world. By doing so, they say, you will, in time, be able to control your own brain and relatedly your own body.
A video I have watched has inspired me very much and, thus, today, I have promised myself to apply mindfulness practice wherever I go or whatever happens. It certainly made me happier and less anxious about the things I had been obsessed with lately.

When I was going to a famous temple in Bangkok that I'd discovered on google maps, I thought the impacts of social media on my mindfulness practice. I have noticed something very obvious but hard to catch in the rush of daily life: Our minds are so easy to conquer!(by our or others' toxic opinions)
We are getting so disconnected with the moment that it is becoming harder and harder to get back and observe our minds and hearts. Checking Twitter and getting concern about the future. Checking Instagram and sighing for the things we do not have. Checking Facebook and complaining about our pasts. But what about now? We are absolutely not aware of the value of the moment we live in. So, mindfulness practice, for me, is directly related to the social media exposure in my life.

Maybe, it affects you the same way, I don't know. But please do try to do something without integrating your past or future. It will not be easy, I assure you. Just observe your mind and see whenever it shifts. To which actions? To where? To whom? Just observe and know what is missing and what is there.

Today, I visited a beautiful temple. For the first time in my life, I meditated in a Buddhist temple and the rain accompanied me while I was sitting among the trees and rocks.

I kept my promise. I was always mindful to be aware of the present moment.

I just wanted to share this experience through which I witnessed a highly powerful composition to my bones. Any ideas or comments?
