dedicate day 21

Fire brings energy and warmth.
Fire brings renovation and light.

I am talking about the fire within us, the energy we carry everywhere we go. It exists even though you do not feel and it determines every action in your life. First step: Believe.

Today, on the 21st day of #ywadedicate, I was able to do wide-legged forward fold, prasarita padottanasana. (You cannot imagine how unbelievable it is for me!) Three months ago, I was regularly practicing yoga just for this asana. I was doing yoga movements every day just to touch the ground with my head... After two weeks I quitted telling myself that one day I could do it anyway, there was no point in trying harder if my body wasn’t ready for it. I didn’t expect it to happen today though! After our yoga session with @adrienelouise on YouTube, I prepared myself for taking a photo, so I leaned as far as I could and clicked the camera. I didn’t realise I was able to put my head on the floor until I saw the photograph (true story). I am proud of my every cell.

Is it too important to perform wide-legged forward fold? No, it is not. But the process that brought me here is IMPORTANT. I honestly can’t believe how much I improved myself. All the things I have been writing here for months were nonsensical personal growth bullshit for me 1-2 years ago. My perspective of life was so narrow that I hadn’t faith in my decisions, education, career, relationships, and LIFE. Now I can clearly see it is only possible by realising the fire within me. It leads my way, it creates my light. It was the process of yoga that enlightened my vision, for sure. So, whether I can do all those fancy, good-looking postures or not, I know I am enough. I am not worried if I fail because I want to fail to enhance my growth. I want to embrace everything I can offer myself to develop more.

“If we are not loving with ourselves, giving ourselves room to breathe, to explore, to make mistakes, then we have no air for the fire to burn. If we are not connected to spirit, we have no spark for the fire, and all the fuel in the world is useless. If we are not centred within ourselves, we see the power outside ourselves, rather than feeling it within.”
