dedicate - day 1

Dedication for regular yoga practice requires a certain amount of body effort, a strong mind, and time the spare for yourself on the mat. The first step sometimes begin with an effective decision and sometimes with a little bit encouragement. In the beginning of this new year for which you may have promised yourself for regular yoga practices, Adriene Louise offers and presents a 30-day yoga challenge for free on her YouTube channel. So, here is your encouragement to dedicate yourself on the mat. She is a heartfelt, lovely human being trying to minimise the complexity of the movements. That’s why I love her videos. That’s why everyone ADORES her videos and way of doing yoga. Her love and sincerity make you feel like she is one of us. Unlike so many other fancy showboating online yoga teachers, she does not only teach you “how to do yoga” but she accompanies you all the way.

I have thought all of these during the first video of 30 days. The video is 49 minutes, which sounds scary. I know but when you go truly feel the movements and when you give attention to the descriptions she makes, those 49 minutes are just nothing. You need to focus on it. You need to be open to learn. You need to take it slow and you need to be THERE. It’s not about rushing from downward dog to the plank pose. It’s about the FLOW. So, let it flow with Adriene when she is guiding you the best. There’ll be no regrets.

If you are familiar with the yoga terms and movements, then you can luckily create your own versions of her explanations (as I did). The whole video is basically about moving with the breath while completely feeling the physical & spiritual energy you’re creating.
We have 29 days ahead. I did all the 30-day challenges of Adriene (I even did some of them twice), so I can presume the rules and her pace but I am still excited and curious about what this dedication will bring on our mats, in our hearts and bodies.

I am yelling all the folks wishing to start to do yoga, here is your chance, take it.
