day 91 - call of the mountains

Hey ho! Some good news!

My boyfriend and I have been doing yoga together for the last two days and it feels awesome!
Doing yoga with your beloved one and sharing the same experience yet with different aspects is a whole different story. Though he always wants to choose the shortest yoga videos, he performed well all of those posture and breath synchronizations.

Yesterday we took a quick flow for digestions since we really overate (mac & cheese). Btw, it is sad that I am still having problems with my eating habits. Damn! AAaaand today I chose the video called “healthy body” from Adriene for us. Once again I realised that Adriene’s videos are perfect for those fresh yogis. It feels almost nostalgic I have learnt all those things thanks to her. The name of the postures, the breath techniques, how to flow, what to do and not to do… I sometimes think if I write something about how to start yoga WITH ADRENE. Not with me. Obviously. I am still a starter (though recently I have been thinking to shoot a video JUST TO SEE my movements briefly so that I can fix my postures and maybe get more inspired!)

I am also continuing to read Iyengar’s The Illustrated Light on Yoga. Reading helps me to focus on my practice really. But Iyengar’s approach, as he warns the reader from the very beginning, is a bit different than modern way of yoga we mix with Western culture. On the contrary, it really goes deep into Indian philosophy and even theology. It does not change that it is an interesting and powerful book for people interested in yoga.
That photo above was taken by my sister when we were having some fresh air in a winter day. There was literally none around and we two shared the silence together. The only companion there was the wind and the sound of the waves. In such a beautiful and calm atmosphere I only tried some postures and experienced the way of doing yoga on a shore. It is something magical. Believe me. We really underestimate the power of nature that can provide us both mental and physical health. We ignore that wellness that can be gained through only by living it from the first place. Sad it is. Sad.

I want to believe that one day I will be far away from this mess of mass production and consumption. It doesn’t matter if I would be on a mountain top, on a shore or in a forest. I will be with nature so that I will be with myself completely. (Watch S1E3 of Chef’s Table on Netflix if you have enough time, you’ll get what I mean)
Take really good care because you are a unique creature of this universe.
Namaste.
