day 64!
Finally
back to my routine but I am taking it slow.
Instead of
continuing with Fiji I followed Adriene’s instructions in her Halloween yoga
video today. Why did I do this? Good question. Because I didn’t –AGAIN- want to
do 45 mins of yoga. I thought it would be better than nothing if I did a
shorter session. What are the differences? There are lots of them…
I can truly
say that Adriene is making videos for beginners. After daily practice in one
week with Fiji McAlpine I thought “Wow I am an intermediate yogi then!” Adriene’s
Halloween flow is similar to her other videos. Some basic movements working
your core strength at minimum level, little bit of leg straightening, small
movements for shoulders and neck, that’s all.
At the
beginning and towards the middle of these 64 days, even half plank pose caused
trembling in my arms & hands. Today I realised it became an easy peasy job
for me. I was like “Hmmm. What’s then?” while Adriene told us to keep our body
up there for 5 seconds. So, this 20 mins of practice is nothing when I compare
it with Fiji’s BUT STILL Adriene is creative and takes it very simple which is
so good for everyone intending to learn basic yoga skills. I love her so much. (I’m
just trying to be honest but don’t want to name and shame someone here. I am
totally being objective.)
Some
non-progressing parts of my yogi body. Flexibility. Still not able to do a
forward fold. !!!! When I think of these postures I cannot do I sing Relax by
Mica in my head. I am decisive for that though. These 64 days have taught me
that yoga is magic only happening in the moment. Doing it now will improve my
future practices, and when the present become the past I can add more to it! In
the end, excluding the “now” from anything in your life will cause only chaos.
Don’t
forget: chaos is what killed the dinosaurs.
