day 36 - ignite your shakti but SLOWLY

Attention!

I experienced something new today. Though Adriene uploaded a new video today I picked another channel to guide me. Actually, this wasn’t a channel but a community. “DoYogaWithMe” I reached them through google search and one month ago I saved as favourite some of the links. One of them was a 30 days of challenges. I though a grey Sunday morning would be great to experience something new!
This is the link I saved.

Let’s talk about the flow.
Dudes, if today’s video is called yoga, I am not doing it at all. I was stupefied with the difficulty and fastness of the movements. I honestly admit I couldn’t catch the flow and I had to look at the video more than 5 times although the women giving the lesson explained everything clearly. It was SO fast.

The title is called “Ignite your Shakti” I chose this because I think a sweaty morning yoga creating some energy to start the day would be perfect. I am used to do yoga with Adriene and Adriene is always slow and mindful about the movements & flows. She explains everything gently without a rush. This pal does not let you to breathe though… Okay the flow was great, no objections to that. The movements and the energy, they were totally good. HOWEVER as I have told you I couldn’t catch it. My thoughts during the flow like “what’s next? Ha? Weren’t we just there? Wait a second. But I didn’t raise my left hand yet! Hey!! Should I stop the video? Should I check the pose?” etc. etc. If I learnt to this flow properly and did it on my own without a video or a guide I think I could be better at it. I was doing yoga with this lady for the first time and I think this video was a wrong choice. (or maybe I am not ready for faster flows) I will continue to try to do yoga with her though.

At least I learnt some new movements. Wheel Pose / Urdhva Dhanurasana was hard to perform for the first-timers. People do it by flowing from mountain pose though… From standing postures to back bends is for advanced yogis. I have thought myself as an intermediate yogi but I guess I am still a beginner…
Note to self for today: I will try faster flows to keep myself updated for challenges.

Let's learn corner of today's post: What is shakti though?

Shakti is believed to be the energy of the entire universe and in the yogic philosophy one of the smallest representatives of the universe is YOU. Your body, mind and spirit create a universe. Shati is what connects you with life and its endeavours, not only physically but also mentally. So, by doing yoga you also meditate. Your prana Shakti and shitta Shakti are activated by this way. To sum up, while you are doing some specific postures in your flow you add a good amount of energy to your Shakti.
